The students of Bayside's class of 2011 are creative and dynamic. We have talented readers, mathematicians, artists and yogis. Yes, yogis. Each week we spend some of our P.E. and project time challenging ourselves with the possibilities of the body and spirit. This year students are learning how to be independent learners and leaders. This takes the form of leading the class during routine exercises such as calendar and editing. Voting for class officers and sharing in decision making fosters self confidence. In order to become independent, we must learn about resources and their use. Students are learning how to use each other as resources. Ms. Cassidy and Ms. Shamila are not the only smart ones in the class.

It is with sheer joy and a sense of fun that we watch the children blossom.
